Are there any decent Hostels in Rio De Janeiro within close distance to the beaches?

I know in Sao Paulo they have pretty nice hostels that are nice,private and clean.....I can get my own private room, room safe, for a very good rate much cheaper than a hotel....just wondering if they have any good ones in Rio because I plan on going there for about a week and don't want to spend $1000 on hotel room each night
