Can I live decent making 1,200 - 2,000 BRL per month in Sao Paulo?

I know it will be very tough, I've heard Sao Paulo is expensive.....hopefully when I go to school in the area I will make a lot of friends, and things will cost less if I find 2 roommates to live with and split costs
