Is it ok to keep my puppy German Shepard outside?

So I just bought a german Shepard from my uncle(original shepard btw). So The first day I had him I left him outside no house.(I KNOW I KNOW..I FEEL REAL BAD TO). But my mom hates big dogs because they are dirty and will smell up the house. So we have to keep him outside, and we will give him a warm comfortable home outside. Is it ok if we keep him outside. He will stay outside for the whole day but We will spend alot of time with him. Please a good response!!
