That's kind of why you need to draw from life, so you don't have trouble stylizing things like cartoons for example. But do what you want. If you want to practice on how to draw specific things just type it in on google. If this is a hobby, then you have nothing to worry about drawing. If it's more than a hobby, you're really limiting yourself a lot.
