Why does my rat terrier lick so much?

Her name is Jordan ( after mj ). She always licks even when i try to hold her back...like she will lick me then ill hold her in front of me and she will keep licking even though shes not in tongues way. Shes 6 months and getting spayed on the 20th she also is a damn mini rat terrier because my mom wanted a small dog. PS i wanted a german shepard.
